Gnarmads in Cuba with Amigo Skate Cuba
Within the first few days we already had the chance to meet or skate with over 30 local skaters of all ages. Our conversational Spanish wasn’t the best, but the language of skateboarding truly prevailed. The locals showed us skate spots, took us out, and told us some epic stories of growing up & overall life in Havana. Amigo Skate Cuba organized a contest at the local skatepark, where over 150 kids showed up just by word of mouth.

Skatenights are events organized by skateboarders, for skateboarders. Different from daytime contests, skatenights are generally more loose, social parties. Usually held at bars or venues, its a place for skateboarders to hang out and get to know each other off of the board. Get a glimpse here of how Macbalife’s skatenight at Nevermind Bar in Barcelona went down.

FDR Park in Philadelphia was one of the first on the east coast and started a movement still going to this day. We traveled there for the anniversary party to document the current state, hang with friends and dig for the history of this iconic place.
